Why do I keep getting viruses when I have a good anti virus program??

Why is my PC running so slow??

Why can't I find my files??

Well....let me tell ya...

I have a motto about computers.
"One PC, One User"

Especially if you use it for business.

Now I know in this day and age kids want to play on the PC and you may have to share the PC with the spouse, the kids, even the dog if it is smart.

Kids like to go to kid sites and play online games and such and here lies the problem.
Kids sites are notorious for viruses and such.
An infection can be activated by the action of your mouse just touching it. A window might pop up and the kids automatically go to close it and now the virus is in your machine.

Kids sites are not the only thing that gets infecttions.
I have been on some government sites that had infected PDF files.
Friends that are infected will send infected emails to you and when you open them, you may get infected too.
It happens.

So what am I trying to say??

If you cannot have a dedicated kid PC, create a kid account on your PC that is restriced so that any download or installation requires Admin rights.
Limit what they can do.
Make sure you have redundancy in your system..meaning make sure your files are backed up somewhere in case a catastrophe happens.

Set your AV program to scan daily.

Make sure you have a GOOD AV program!!

My friends and family know...I do not let anyone on my machines, especially my business one.
If I do, I give them the briefing for the Do's and Don'ts.

I have not had a virus in a long time.
